THE NORDIC CHOIR EXPEDITION 2016:
TENSO DAYS HELSINKI

Leading chamber choirs from Sweden, Norway and Denmark visit Helsinki in August to perform at the Tenso Days festival hosted by the Helsinki Chamber Choir. They will present five concerts during the Nordic Choir Expedition 2016 at the House of Nobility (Ritarihuone) between 26th and 28th August. The participating choirs are Eric Ericsons Kammarkör, Det Norske Solistkor, Ars Nova Copenhagen, Tenso Europe Chamber Choir (made up of young professionals) and the Helsinki Chamber Choir. During the festival there will also be workshops for composers, conductors and choral singers as well as panel discussions and repertoire presentations. The concerts will be conducted by the legendary Paul Hillier (two concerts), Grete Pedersen, Florian Benfer and Nils Schweckendiek.

Tenso Days festivals have been organised all around Europe by Tenso, the network of European professional choirs, since 2005. This will be the first Tenso Days festival in Finland. All 19 members of Tenso (representing 15 different countries) are professional choirs. The Helsinki Chamber Choir is the only Finnish member of the network. During 2016, Tenso Days will be organised in Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Mechelen (Belgium) in addition to Helsinki.
